Because hang-overs are better off with a Bloody Mary in hand, we cannot go high and dry after Art Basel last week. Below is a little selection of some of the best shows that you can still catch up in London this June.
Art collecting with sensitivity
Adding to the visual abundance we will see in the week ahead during Art Basel seems redundant. What follows is my contribution to art collecting with sensitivity.
9th Berlin Biennale: The post-growth, post-national, post-consumer generation
There are a number of must-attend international events in the yearly art calendar and Berlin Biennale is one of them. For anyone interested in seeing artists at an early stage who are laying the ground to potentially shape the art world in the future, this is it.
Yaron Lapid: “The world is full of images, the trick is to interpret the existing ones”
“I find images and I let them rest. Then at some point I know the feeling I am looking for or the idea I am after. I go through many different boxes of images that I have bought in markets or found somewhere, work them digitally… and when I see images together, I know where I need to go. Many times I am wrong; images don’t do what I thought they would and they don’t work; or they do work but not in the way I want.”

Collecting Photography
PhotoLondon fair is opening to the public this Thursday at Somerset House in London. This means photography exhibitions, talks, events and auctions galore. I have created a little collectors’ checklist as well as some highlights of the auctions coming up.
