Art appreciation is a journey about learning, growth and finding visual and intellectual pleasure. As an art collector, you help support the overall arts ecosystem and together with IñigoArt, you will be able to establish meaningful relationships with the artists you collect. You will find your voice in the voice of artists, and you will be investing in intergenerational wealth through art that aims to sustain and increase its value in the long term.
The Process
Introductory Discovery Call. We will talk about your hopes, dreams and aspirations. What you would you like to achieve by acquiring art and what is keeping you away from making that first art acquisition. Or maybe you are a seasoned collector and want to advance your insight and fulfill the potential of your collection.
After careful consideration, you will receive a personalised Collector Box, including a number of reading materials to expand on our conversation, and a detailed action plan to:
· Learn the basics about key players in the industry and intrinsic conflicts of interest: Art fairs, commercial galleries, NFP and auction houses. We will grant you VIP Access to fairs and money-can’t-buy experiences.
· Accelerate learning: We will shortlist 6-12 artists to watch that fulfil your aspirations. You will learn about their practice, standing in the market and industry support and, when the time is right, we will look at specific works to potentially consider a purchase.
· Turn it up a notch and visit international key events, arrange studio visits, discuss patronage.
· Acquire the best art within your budget that speaks to you and about you. The extent of our involvement in the process and compensation can be discussed to fit your needs.
As guidance, the daily fee is £900 and we retain 10% of purchase value. This is negotiated with the gallery and comes at no expense to the client. Should we be able to negotiate a larger commission, (i.e. 15-20%) we would always pass the surplus to you as a discount. IñigoArt has no affiliations to any limited number of galleries nor artists. Our advice is fully independent. When developing a proposal, we will look into all available possibilities that best meet the brief and budget, including independent artists, galleries, auction houses and the online marketplace.
